Day 48 Anzac Cove

Engraving At Anzac Cove by Kemal Ataturk

Those heroes that shed their blood, and lost their lives....

You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country.

Therefore, rest in peace.

There is not difference between the Johnnies

And the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side,

Here in this country of ours.

You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries....

Wipe away your tears.

Your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace.

After having lost their lives on this land, they have

Become our sons as well

Princess put on a very beautiful and moving dawn service this morning as dawn broke in Anzac Cove.

The decks were packed as the Captain led the service with the help of the Mark the cruise director and other retired ex servicemen.

The choir sang, trumpeter played the Last Post and Reveille and the ships bell marked the 2 minute silence.

They shall grow not old as we who are left grow old,

Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn:

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning

We will remember them.

“Lest we forget”

  1. Feel nostalgic. I have a photo of our service at Anzac Cove. I was in the choir,
