When we got back to the ship we had some kind of reenactment happening down on the pier. Now as we were on the ship at the time we can only guess what it was about. It seemed that there were representatives from different regions and each looked like they pledged some kind of allegiance to the knights. Each flag would be brought forward the corner would be held together along with the Knights flag and kissed or blessed. After all the flags were presented there was a 2 gun salute!!
On a bigger scaled Valletta farewelled us with an 8 canon salute. Each of the canons in the Barracca Gardens were fired as we sailed out…. It was a wonderful goodbye, a special treat for visiting Ships.
