Valletta lived up to it’s promise of a beautiful sail in. We were one of the first off the ship and as it was early we decided to grab a taxi for 2 hours that would take us to Mdina and Rabat then back to the old city of Valletta.
Mdina is another walled village, the old medieval capital of Malta. We were there so early it was still waking up. The first thing you notice about these old towns of Malta, they look old but feel young. Everything is clean and the old buildings look in pretty good pristine condition.
Right next store to Mdina is Rabat and St Pauls Church. Underneath there are the catacombs, war bunkers and the grotto where St Paul’s remains are buried.( I think)
