Back today to one of our favourite cities. A special treat was that we had family, Ron and Vicky, come and meet us from England.
We hopped of the ship early with thoughts of grabbing the port bus into town but ended up sharing a taxi with 2 others which only cost us 10 euros.
We met Ron and Vicky at the base of the Christopher Columbus monument which is right at the end of the main pedestrian mall of Las Ramblas. A quick catch up was in order before we started our day so we stopped for coffee in the Placa Reial... where of course we had to try churrios.
Now I had a couple of missions today... as it was Carly’s birthday she had a couple of requests... the first was to eat mango at the La Boqueria. This is Barcelona’s fresh food market... What a feast for the eyes this place is... If they don’t sell it here it is not worth eating I am sure... they had stalls for everything... Fruit, eggs, meat, fish and anything else you can imagine... There were also stalls that will cook you up a meal and serve it to you with a glass of wine.... yes even at 9am in the morning!!
